Laser treats many pigmented follicles in one pass. Electrolysis treats one follicle at a time with a fine probe and electric current. In Islamabad and Rawalpindi laser is the method most clinics advertise for legs, back, chest, and underarms. Electrolysis is the slower option for hair laser cannot target, including grey and white shafts, and for leftover hairs after a laser course.
Laser covers a large map in one appointment. Electrolysis would need a separate insertion into each follicle on the same zone.
They are not substitutes. Laser needs dark pigment in the hair. It is the practical choice for large areas with black or dark brown hair: legs, back, chest, arms, underarms. Electrolysis does not need pigment. A probe is inserted into each follicle and current destroys that follicle. The U.S. FDA describes electrolysis as a method of permanent hair removal and laser as a method of permanent hair reduction. Electrolysis is slow and costly on a full back or both legs. Laser is a poor choice for grey, white, or very blonde hair. Many people laser the large pigmented map first, then use electrolysis on leftovers.

Laser skips follicles without enough melanin. Electrolysis does not care about colour.
Laser versus electrolysis
When each fits
Most people with dark hair on a large zone start with laser. Electrolysis is the cleanup and the colour exception.
Long term
Laser lowers density. Electrolysis aims to finish treated follicles. Hormones can still grow new ones.
After a laser course, many people still shave rarely or book a maintenance pass. That is expected, especially on the face and on hormonally driven hair. Electrolysis on a leftover patch can clear hairs laser never saw. It does not stop new follicles from activating later if hormones change. In Islamabad, get a written map of what each method will treat. Do not pay for a full-body electrolysis quote as if it were a laser package, and do not expect laser to erase grey stubble.

Technically yes, follicle by follicle. In practice the hours and cost make laser the usual first method when hair is dark enough. Electrolysis is the cleanup.
Usually no. Those shafts lack the pigment laser needs. Electrolysis or continued shaving are the realistic options for grey or white facial hair.
Ask both clinics. Treating the same follicle with both methods on a short gap can irritate skin and confuse what is working. Cleanup is usually after the laser course, not mid-package, unless they plan it together.
Laser advertising is more common. Electrolysis exists but you may need to ask specifically for an electrologist, not assume every aesthetic clinic offers it.
